Your Brain Is Your Most Powerful Asset – How To Take Care Of It ?

Numerous studies have proven that a healthy state of your brain has a direct impact on the way we make our decisions, it has a very high meaning to our body. Maintaining a healthy life style while choosing the most natural foods we are able to find is extremely important to us because our brain needs some help with making it capable of great creative work.

What we eat is building our body and it’s busting the immune system responsible for protecting us. Staying healthy enables us to be the greatest leaders and helps showing others the right way of doing and thinking.

Everything exists for the reason, life is full of possible choices we make every day and those little choices will create the future we’ll be living in. The right way of taking care of yourself will benefit for the good of everyone around you, and being successful requires smart actions.


Most people cringe when they hear “coconut oil”.


Okay, maybe not – but a lot of people freak out when I tell them that one of my main objectives these days is to add MORE healthy saturated coconut fat to my diet…

In reality, coconut oil – and any coconut product – is a real superfood proven to boost metabolism, fight infections, heal your skin, supercharge your thyroid, and nourish your body like very few foods can do.

That’s why today, I decided to share 3 of the easiest way I add more of that coconut goodness to my diet:

1) I cook with it… all the freaking time!

I cook with virgin coconut oil most of the time – especially when I want that sweet, aromatic flavor that it brings to the curries and sautés Gen and I prepare in our little Parisian apartment these days.

On days that I do NOT want the coconut taste, I simply use the deodorized (also called “expeller-pressed) version, that simply has no taste, but while basically still giving you all the benefits.

I also add a special kind of coconut oil, called “MCT oil” to most of my meals to add some extra healthy fats in there.

Bonus, the MCT oil gives you an extra mental boost, without the need for caffeine (which I swore to avoid for 2 whole months, but that’s a story for another day!).

2) I use coconut flakes with raw nuts as a snack

It sounds kind of bland, but it tastes A-mazing. Really.

I’ll be the first to admit that raw nuts by themselves might be way healthier than the roasted kind, or than any sugary trail mix… but they sometimes taste like cardboard. Bleh!

The fix? Mix raw almonds, macadamias, pecans, or whatever your favorite kind of nut is with coconut flakes (toasted or not).

They had a sweet, fatty flavor and texture that instantaneously makes your raw nuts 1000 times better. Try it.

3) I prepare decadent HEALTHY ice cream 2-3 times per week

You read that right. Healthy ice cream.

(I know… Someone pinch me or something!)

One evening after dinner, I felt like having some dessert. Yes, turns out I’m human after all.

As I always do when I have a kick-ass recipe idea, I told Gen… I JUST HAD A VISION!

I had thought of an ice cream recipe that would satisfy our cravings, while being compliant with our gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, and crap-free diet.

I mixed 1 can of coconut milk (full fat), about 1 tbsp. of xylitol (could be sugar/honey/maple syrup, but try to use as little as possible!), and a couple of chopped lychees.

I put that in 2 little bowls, and in the freezer for about 2-3 hours, stirring once or twice to break the ice and make sure that it doesn’t form a huge coconut Iceberg that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy.


There you go. Three simple and delicious ways I add more coconut to my diet these days, even while travelling far from home.
